[Continua a leggere]

Chris Carter’s TV Project ‘Unique’ Not Moving Forward

Exclusive: Chris Carter, creator and executive producer of Fox’s long running series The X-Files, re-entered the world of television this past development cycle, or at least he tried to. Carter had a drama project known as Unique set up at indie studio Media Rights Capital. Hollywood was all abuzz when news broke that Carter would be floating a new TV project, after having largely been off the scene since the conclusion of The X-Files and feature film sequel I Want To Believe (there was even talk of a third X-Files film). But after having what several network sources described as &ldquo ... [Continua a leggere]

[Continua a leggere]

Are 20th Century Fox Close To Greenlighting A Third X-Files Film?

Thanks to a dedicated fan campaign, are Fox close to ordering a third feature film adaptation of The X-Files?

In July 2008, 20th Century Fox released The X-Files: I Want To Believe, the second feature film adaptation of Fox’s long running science fiction television series. The film, which was received poorly in the United States, tanked at the box office; bringing in only 21 million dollars, domestically.

[Continua a leggere]

The company, which hopes to go straight to series on the project, is expected to start pitching the show to networks in the next few weeks. Carter had had the idea for the action series for a while and earlier this year pitched it to MRC, which has been teaming with A-list film and TV auspices. The company most recently sold the David Fincher/Kevin Spacey drama House Of ... [Continua a leggere]

'X-Files' Creator Chris Carter Plots Return to TV With Police Thriller

Media Rights Capital is producing the female-lead "Unique," which has a supernatural element.

X-Files creator Chris Carter is heading back to the small screen. After several years away from Hollywood despite heavy demand, Carter has reemerged with a female-lead mystery police thriller titled Unique. The project, which is set up at Media Rights Capital, has a supernatural element to it. He is set to write and executive produce. Carter spent nearly a decade at the helm of the David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson vehicle, which ran from 1993 to 2002. The series not only helped put host network Fox on the map but also define it as a destination for edgy, quality fare. ... [Continua a leggere]
