‘The X-Files’: How Fox Revived Mulder and Scully’s Search for the Truth

Variety - Cover

[SPOILER INSIDE]

The set-up is classic “X-Files.” A top-secret location. The corpse of a victim snuffed out under mysterious circumstances. A shady official managing the situation. FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully trying to uncover the truth. David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson have played scenes like this over a hundred times before. It should be a cakewalk. But on this August afternoon on a Vancouver soundstage, nothing’s going right. The actors are tripping over their lines. They can’t hear writer-director James Wong’s cues through the walls of the set from his perch behi ... [Continua a leggere]

Gillian Anderson Answers All Your Questions about the New X-Files Revival

And tries some X-tra hard X-Files trivia.

Next Sunday Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny are back as agents Scully and Mulder, and we’re so ready—like 15-years-waiting-for-something-to-believe-in ready. We paused in rewatching all nine seasons to ask Anderson our most pressing questions about the new season. GQ: Do we call it a miniseries or a reboot?Gillian Anderson: I guess it’s a miniseries, but sometimes these miniseries become full series, so I don’t know! I guess it depends on where we go with it. Did you or David Duchovny sign on first?David was very enthusiastic from the inception—he, I think, ... [Continua a leggere]

Gillian Anderson: Mulder and Scully are in love

When “The X-Files” returns on Jan. 24, don’t expect one of those highfalutin reboots: The six new episodes are all about continuity — down to star Gillian Anderson’s signature hair color. Back in 1993, when the Fox show first aired, Anderson dyed her blond hair red to play FBI Special Agent Dana Scully. This time, she opted for wigs. “The first [wig] wasn’t quite the right red, so in some light it came off as strawberry,” she tells The Post. “The second wig was more the original color.” The coherence goes deeper than hair c ... OBSESSION

As The X-Files returns, GILLIAN ANDERSON talks to JENNIFER DICKINSON about finding Scully again, her chemistry with co-star David Duchovny, and why men and women are so enthralled by her

What would FBI Agent Dana Scully wear? Or, more importantly, what would she not wear? Gillian Anderson knows, in precise detail. As is her way when it comes to her work, Anderson is relentless when it comes to, not empty perfection, but attention to detail and its contribution to authenticity. So when filming began last June for the much-anticipated new series of cult ’90s (and beyond) show The X-Files, airing on Fox on January 24, she was fastidious. “The costume designer would pull something that on one level would be an interesting thing for Scully to wear, that would give it a ... X-Files reopened as Anderson and Duchovny reprise Mulder and Scully roles

X-Files stars Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny have been reunited on the red carpet at the premiere of a new series of the hit tv show.

The pair, who found fame around the world as FBI special agents Mulder and Scully in the sci-fi drama, have reprised their roles for six new episodes more than thirteen years after the original run ended. The pair whispered and reminisced about the past at the launch of the new season at the California Science Centre in Los Angeles. Commenting on the relevance of the show, Anderson, who can currently be seen in BBC1's War And Peace, said: "There continues to be enthusiasm for it. There has been a huge amount of enthusiasm since we announced it (the new series|)." Duchovny added: "I think th ... [Continua a leggere]

David Duchovny on the second 'X-Files' movie: Fox botched the release

Will there ever be another X-Files movie? Though FOX is releasing a six-episode X-Files "event series" later this month, fans have long wondered whether Mulder and Scully's big-screen adventures are officially over after the second film, 2008's X-Files: I Want to Believe, turned in a disappointing performance at the box-office.  Though there's been no movement on a third feature since then, one person who seems keen on making another film is David "Mulder" Duchovny, who stopped by to chat with us at last night's red carpet premiere for the new series, which debuts on FOX January 24. ...

Nella nuova miniserie-evento, in arrivo su FOX in an ... [Continua a leggere]

'X-Files' Stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson Open Up About Emotional and 'Nostalgic' Revival Series

FBI Special Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully are back! The X-Files stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson spoke with ET at the premiere the new revival series at the California Science Center in Los Angeles on Tuesday, where they opened up on their emotional return to the franchise that made them household names years ago. According to Duchovny, just reading the script for the first time brought him to tears. "It was nostalgic," the 55-year-old Golden Globe winner told ET. "It was just seeing the, just the names on the page again you know?" As for Anderson, she's looking forward to bri ... [Continua a leggere]

Chris Carter and Cast Explain Why ‘The X-Files’ Revival Is ‘a Trip Down Memory Lane’

Davis and Mitch Pileggi were joined by new additions Joel McHale, Kumail Nanjiani, Robbie Amell, Lauren Ambrose and returnee Annabeth Gish, who co-starred in the last two seasons of the series. On the premiere red carpet, Variety played compare and contrast with the new and returning actors about what gave them deja vu this time around a ... [Continua a leggere]

Here's How The X-Files Reboot Got Made

From the mouths of David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson, Chris Carter, and more. Plus an exclusive clip.

THE ORIGIN STORY After the 2008 film The X-Files: I Want To Believe flopped among critics and barely eked by at the box office, any thought of another reunion was far from any of the principal cast members' minds. In fact, for Gillian Anderson, who plays FBI Agent Dana Scully, the very notion made her sick. "The first time I heard the idea of continuing The X-Files mentioned was at New York Comic-Con in 2013, when we appeared to mark the show's twentieth anniversary," Anderson recalls. "Somebody from the audience asked about the possibility of us doing more movies or shows, an ... [Continua a leggere]

The X-Files' Gillian Anderson, David Duchovny on the Beginning and the End (?) of Mulder and Scully

The cosmos aligned for Mulder and Scully to return to TV, and for a show that's about alien conspiracy and the unexplained, do you think that's a coincidence? Yes, against all expectations (and even some of their misgivings) Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny suited up once more for six episodes of The X-Files. It took Mulder (and fewer episodes) to get Scully to sign on. "The episode count had probably the biggest influence on my final decision," Anderson told E! News on set in Vancouver, Canada about returning to the franchise. "I wasn't interested in it. What doing it for TV meant in the ... [Continua a leggere]

Session with Gillian Anderson

How was it working with David Duchovny again? Well David is David, so as you know, he's funny and irreverent and we have a laugh. We laugh about the olden days and about how different it is to do the series as old people. He has a better memory than me so the conversation is usually him being reminded of something we did and me saying, "Really? That happened? In which of the 20,000 episodes?" We definitely stayed closer to set this time round than we used to. I mean, our trailers were where our life happened back in the day! I had a child in mine for one! These days though, after a scene fini ... [Continua a leggere]

[Continua a leggere]

Fox Mulder e John Doggett.

L’arrivo ... [Continua a leggere]
