NYCC 2017: Gillian Anderson On Cliffhangers, William, And Immortality

To fans of science fiction, Gillian Anderson needs no introduction. For nine years starting in 1993, Anderson played Dana Scully on ‘The X-Files’. She further brought the character to the screen on two separate occasions (first in 1998 and again in 2008) before returning to television for the series’ revival on Fox in 2016. But even after all that, the truth, it seems, is still out there. With filming well underway on the show’s upcoming eleventh season, we had the opportunity to sit down with Anderson at New York Comic Con. During the conversation, the actress spoke ab ... Sunday With: Gillian Anderson

Gillian Anderson has been playing FBI Agent Dana Scully on The X-Files and its spinoffs since 1993. Even after success starring as Stella Gibson on the BBC’s The Fall, she’s found herself returning to the iconic role of the skeptical Agent Dana Scully again and again, most recently in an X-Files audio series (the second installment, Stolen Lives, is available October 3). The U.K.-based actress, author and mom of three, 49, talked to Parade from the set of the show’s 11th season, debuting in 2018. When you were making the original ... [Continua a leggere]

The X-Files Star Gillian Anderson's Favorite Thing About Scully Is...

Gillian Anderson has spent a lot of time with The X-Files' Special Agent Dana Scully. We're talking 23 years, 200+ episodes, two feature films, and now a six-episode event series. But there were seven years between the last film and the revival miniseries, so you can understand why Anderson forgot what she really loved about the redhead skeptic. "What I've come to appreciate of her, in light of a lot of the other tough female characters I've played—and I forgot this about her until coming back to it—is there's a lightness and a playfulness and a girlishness that I don't really hav ... Gillian Anderson: 'I’d forgotten Scully had aged'

Gillian Anderson is “much closer” to her X-Files co-star David Duchovny since the pair reprized their FBI roles for a reboot series.

Actress Gillian Anderson took some time to adjust to how her X-Files character Dana Scully had aged when she reprised the role. The 47-year-old star played the FBI agent from 1993 to 2002, and is now portraying the character again for a rebooted six-part series. While Gillian was pleased to see Dana reunited with her FBI partner Fox Mulder (played by David Duchovny), she needed to adjust to how much time had passed. “It felt very good to step back into her shoes – and clothes,” she told Britain’s OK! magazine. “But it took some time for me to feel comfortable wi ... OBSESSION

As The X-Files returns, GILLIAN ANDERSON talks to JENNIFER DICKINSON about finding Scully again, her chemistry with co-star David Duchovny, and why men and women are so enthralled by her

What would FBI Agent Dana Scully wear? Or, more importantly, what would she not wear? Gillian Anderson knows, in precise detail. As is her way when it comes to her work, Anderson is relentless when it comes to, not empty perfection, but attention to detail and its contribution to authenticity. So when filming began last June for the much-anticipated new series of cult ’90s (and beyond) show The X-Files, airing on Fox on January 24, she was fastidious. “The costume designer would pull something that on one level would be an interesting thing for Scully to wear, that would give it a ... New Photo: Gillian Anderson as Scully on The X-Files Set

“Agent Mulder? I’m Dana Scully. I’ve been assigned to work with you.” It’s been 22 years since Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny first began their run on The X-Files, and now they’re back with Fox’s six-episode reboot. “It’s nice to be back in Vancouver,” where the original series filmed its first five seasons, Anderson tells us. “The weather is beautiful right now in Vancouver, so it makes those 17-hour days not bite so much.” Anderson has a packed plate these days, juggling NBC’s Hannibal, the upcoming B ... Gillian Anderson on why she's wearing a wig to play Scully in The X-Files revival

Fans of The X-Files remember Dana Scully as an intellectually rigorous, science-minded investigator of the supernatural possibilities, skeptical (aliens? proof please!) yet open-minded about far-out possibilities (including God), and passionate about truth, justice and the man with whom she shared an intimate rapport on multiple levels. So much to discuss about what’s inside the mind and heart of this extraordinary and complex woman – and yet what fans really want to talk about  right now is what’s on top of her head. Because fans also remember Scully for her red hair, y ... [Continua a leggere]

Gillian is woman on a mission in new crime drama The Fall

Gillian Anderson made her name probing the paranormal, but in new crime drama The Fall, filmed on location in Belfast, she plays a detective hunting a serial killer. The actress tells ALBERTINA LLOYD why she took the part

IN the first episode of The Fall, Gillian Anderson’s police investigator Stella Gibbons is a woman on a mission. After spotting a handsome police officer she likes the look of, she demands to be introduced - and then purposefully tells him which hotel room she is staying in. It’s a far cry from prim FBI agent Dana Scully, who spent years in The X-Files refusing to get too close to her partner Fox Mulder (DavidDuchovny) before she finally gave in to her feelings. “When I’ve been asked about the differences between the two of them, suddenly it occurred to me that Scully ... Gillian Anderson on her 'creepy' new BBC thriller

The X Files’ Gillian Andersonstars in powerful new thriller The Fall, which screens on BBC2 on Monday at 9pm and sees her as a London detective who is seconded to Belfast to track down a serial killer. TV & Satellite Week caught up with her to find out more… How does your character DSI Stella Gibson compare to The X Files' Scully?“They are both law enforcement officials and they look a bit like each other! Stella is one of my most favourite characters to have played and I actually prefer playing her to Scully. Scully started out very young, so we saw her pretending to b ... [Continua a leggere]

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the groundbreaking, conspiracy-promoting, cult favorite television series The X-Files. Gillian Anderson plays an enigmatic detective in BBC's suspenceful new mini-series The Fall

On the wall of the Zetter hotel in Clerkenwell is a rnonochrorne painting of a pale, raven-haired woman. She is wearing a corseted ballgown that becomes, from the waist down, an elaboratebird cage.Staring darkly out at the viewer, she holds a dagger aloft. I tell Gillian Anderson - who sits in front of the painting, slight blonde, in black jeans and a blue silk shirt - that the woman strikes rne as exactly the kind of tormented part she would play. 'You're absolutely right,' she says, beaming. The gulf between Anderson, 44. and the characters she portrays on-screen verges on comic. She is cele ... [Continua a leggere]

Interview Gillian Anderson

Great Expectations #1

Given the perpetual seriousness of Agent Dana Scully, it should have come as a surprise to no one when Gillian Anderson made the post-X-Files decision to step into deeper dramatic waters, appearing in a London production of Henrik Ibsen’s A Doll’s House as well as television adaptations of such literary fare as Charles Dickens’ Bleak House and Herman Melville’s Moby Dick. But appearing in Johnny English Reborn? Now that was unexpected. Anderson’s latest role, which finds her working closer to anticipated form, is Miss Havisham in Great Expectations, which airs on ... The Best Fictional Scientists From TV and Movies

IWTB Photoshoot - 2

Agent Dana Scully, The X-Files

If ever there was a set up on television of the clash between science and faith, it was The X-Files. Agent Fox Mulder was driven by his unflappable faith that extraterrestrials were real, and his sister was abducted by aliens -- and all of this was covered up by the government. He was a rogue agent who didn’t need any scientific proof to follow his mission. Agent Dana Scully, on the other hand, was assigned to be Mulder’s partner to debunk his paranormal work in The X-Files. She was a scientist and was always looking for the facts of a situation and the most logical, scient ... [Continua a leggere]

O almeno ci penso io ...
