Frank Spotnitz has certainly been a huge part of the entire mythology of The X-Files. Starting as a co-producer in 1996, he also has written several episodes of the series and executive produced for the last four years of the series' phenomenal run. He's had a hand in both feature films as well, developing the story for the first film with series creator Chris Carter and he co-wrote and produced The X-Files: I Want to Believe, which comes out on DVD and Blu-ray on December 2, as well. Following up on our exclusive story from a few weeks back, where actor David Duchovny told us that The X-Files 2 was indeed shooting in December, new rumors have sprung up online claiming that 20th Century is finally ready to start production on the sequel. Actress Gillian Anderson is also expected to be back on board to play Special Agent Dana Scully.Rumors claim that shooting is scheduled to begin on December 10th in Vancouver under the direction of series creator Chris Carter.
