Chris Carter Says 9/11 Killed X-Files, But America is Ready for It Again

We just got treated to a very brief clip from the new X-Files movie trailer, featuring a group of mysterious FBI types marching across the icy antarctic snows, with Ringo from the Lone Gunman in the lead, crying out, "We've found it!" Cut to lightning fast clips of a body being dragged over ice, Scully looking hotter than hell, Mulder looking not so bad himself, and lots of zoomy blurred stuff. No shots of Exhibit or Billy Connely, though Chris Carter did confirm for the millionth time that they would be in the film along with Amanda Peet as a federal agent. No word about that giant werewolf w ... [Continua a leggere]

WC 08: The X-Files 2 Movie Panel

Carter, Spotnitz, Anderson and Duchovny reunite at WonderCon to discuss their upcoming film.

Perhaps one of the biggest crowd pleasers of this year's WonderCon show was 20th Century Fox's presentation for the new The X-Files 2 movie. In attendance were series creator Chris Carter and writer Frank Spotnitz, as well as stars Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny. Right out of the gate, the group addressed the issues associated with the franchise's six year long absence."Because it'll scare the pants off of you," answered Carter when asked why this movie would be worth the wait. "Because you'll get to see Mulder and Scully together again, that's why."That said, Carter did elaborate on the ... [Continua a leggere]

Creativity: Different stars talk about what inspired them

Creativity seems to be an indefinable something that separates the artist from the rest of the world. You never know just what’s going to trigger it. For Jim Carrey it was a teacher, for Gillian Anderson it was failing an audition, for Tim Burton it was digging in his heels. “I was in the second grade and my teacher was playing a record,” recalls Carrey. “I was mocking all the musicians. She said, `If you’re going to do that, do it in front of the whole class.’ And they went nuts. She asked me to do it at the Christmas assembly and from then on that was the ... [Continua a leggere]

"X-Files 2, the movie, is coming"

These words were of Gillian Anderson, the Scully of the popular American Tv series and guest of the 37 GFF. The series has not been made for five years, and the producers have no intention to make another- explained Anderson – but they are indeed projecting a new episode for the cinema". The first "X-Files" movie was released in 1998. Ex-files no longer: Partners once more

In the five years since they last struggled with the supernatural in the X Files, the careers of David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson have diverged: he has struggled to find good projects, she has been acclaimed. Now they are to be reunited in the roles that made them.

When Chris Carter, the originator of the The X Files, first sat down with executives from 20th Century Fox to propose his idea for what was to become one of the greatest cult shows in modern television, Bill Clinton was a fresh face in the White House and promising to make the world a better place. But Carter told the suits from Fox that what he had in mind was not to put the smile back on the faces of Americans but rather to frighten them out of their wits. "There's nothing scary on network television any more. Let's do a scary show," he told them. And so began a process by which The X Files ... [Continua a leggere]
