The Lone Gunmen Will Return in The X-Files Season 10

SAN DIEGO — Ten years after The X-Files was last on the air, the classic science fiction conspiracy show has finally launched its tenth season–in comics form, with a series from IDW. X-Files creator Chris Carter and star Gillian Anderson (Scully) joined IDW Editor-in-Chief Chris Ryall as well as comics writer Joe Harris and series editor Joe Corroney on a panel at Comic-Con International moderated by series actor Dean Haglund (Langely of the Lone Gunmen) to discuss the future of the series. Season 10 takes place in real time, returning to the characters a decade after the end of ... [Continua a leggere]

SDCC 2013: Chris Carter Approves Of Gillian Anderson’s Breasts

And more news from THE X-FILES Season 10 panel.

As you probably already know, IDW has begun publishing The X-Files: Season 10 comic book series, written by Joe Harris with Chris Carter's full cooperation. Today I sat in a panel with Harris, Carter, Gillian Anderson, illustrator Joe Corroney, and IDW execs Chris Ryall and Denton Tipon. Yeah, no Duchovny, but Anderson was cool and funny enough for both of them. She has a very laidback, hip way about her. "Y’all, come to the booth where I’m signing shit. Come say hi and buy some stuff!” I love her. The panel was moderated by Dean Haglund, who played good ol' Ringo. Haglund's ... [Continua a leggere]

The Truth Is Out There at PaleyFest

Though the show they love has lain dormant for six years, fans turned out in droves Wednesday night to the PaleyFest to reanimate “The X-Files.” Like, say, a zombie. Or a golem. Or a giant human liver fluke. During the clip reel of the nine-season show, “X-Philes” cheered for sci-fi Heathcliff Fox Mulder and savvy strawberry Sno-Cone Dana Scully. Things got especially rowdy in the seats when the two locked lips, a kiss that ended nearly a decade of sexual tension that had become as thick as ectoplasm. On hand to expose the truth were creator Chris Carter; producers Ho ... [Continua a leggere]

Paley Festival: The X-Files

From March 14th to March 27th, The Paley Center for Media is presenting the twenty-fifth annual William S. Paley Television Festival. The Paley Center, formerly the Museum of Television and Radio, says that the festival celebrates "television's rich and diverse programming and the creative process behind the medium." This year the festival included Chuck, Pushing Daisies, The Buffy the Vampire Slayer Reunion, Dirty Sexy Money among others. I've already attended the Buffy Reunion and Dirty Sexy Money (click above for those reports). Last night I went to The X-Files panel. For what happened duri ... [Continua a leggere]

2008 Paley Festival coverage: The X-Files

"The X-Files" ended its run on Fox six years ago, but its writers and producers can still grouse about working on the show like it was yesterday. The Paley Festival session on the long-running hit series featured a dozen members of the cast and crew. The overall theme of the evening was that working "The X-Files" was very hard. In terms of news value, the panel was trapped in an “X-Files”-esque netherworld: The TV show is yester-decade's news, while this summer's new "X-Files" movie is of very high interest. Yet creator Chris Carter is naturally unwilling to give any spoilers. The ... [Continua a leggere]

On DVD, 'The Lone Gunmen' Return to Life

Secrets and Lies

No more guessing, no more theories – X-Files creator Chris Carter says he’s finally blowing the lid off TV’s longest-running conspiracy. but where do Mulder and Scully go from here?

X-Files actors live in mortal fear of it: the big kiss-off from series creator Chris Carter. The bell doesn’t toll often for regular characters (among the unlucky few: Deep Throat, X and Bill Mulder), but the possibility hovers, like an alien spaceship, over the cast. For one actor, the phone rang days before shooting began on a momentous two-parter (airing Feb. 7 and 14), a sweeps event that Fox is trumpeting as “The X Files conspiracy…exposed!” Divulging the identity of the doomed player would, of course, ruin the second episode’s penultimate shoc ...
